Karma is certainly a b****.
Hehehehehehe this gets even more interesting and worrisome at the same time and just the thought that Zambia can qualify for the WORLD CUP (holiday) in Russia baffles me and sometimes makes my stomach rumble like the previous night I had taken some bad beans.
You may remember if you happened to have been at a boarding school how terrible your stomach would react after having a meal of bad beans. That's the feeling the realization that the once MIGHTY CHIPOLOPOLO has failed to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations brings to my tummy.
Fifa ranking where are we? I can't say because it is embarrassing but to think that we can qualify for the Russia WC whose qualification draws are already out is as good as Seeing Former Father Father FB on the puppet sharing the word of the Lord after leaving the Church for a more lucrative business on the Zambian Political scene. Anyway I will not dwell much on him going back to the church and what not but I do believe he is enjoying the fruits of his new role. Always next to the president and even responding to imaginary questions from the likes of his good friend from the UPND GBV and Journalists.
Eishh before I lose my thought, were was I again? Ohhhh thank goodness I have remembered, the dagga I had in secondary school and the Castle Lite I have been having with cdes in the profession has nothing on me. Chipolopolo performance since winning the 2012 AFCON in Gabon.
In the qualifiers we are facing Algeria, Cameroon and Nigeria all previous winners of the AFCON. Need not mention that these teams have been to the World Cup before, played and held big teams like Germany. It will be a daunting task playing against a north African side like Algeria as teams from that part of Africa have almost always beaten us be it in friendly matches, tournaments or qualifiers.
Have we done enough to grant us a berth in Russia? The answer is in plain white and for the visually impaired its in braille. Zambian football standards have been gradually and steadily falling down like Super Mario Balotelli's career. And if you ask me where he is i will not be able to tell you because honestly i do not know. Zaza even with that kind of a penalty at an International tournament is still wayyyyy better than the Mario of today.
And the run of poor results should not be blamed on Andrew Kamanga and his team of advisers or chola boys. Andrew Kamanga (AK47) fondly known by his good friends inherited a losing team and under him the team has only played a few games.
Ohh yeah even at the COSAFA tournament in Namibia we were weeping boys, lost against King Mswati's boys. Anyway i understand they may have been exasperated after their King once again got one from them (young virgin) but again losing to Namibia renders my first point invalid.
The issue of hiring an expatriate coach is of huge concern and we need one like yesterday.
We have tried and tested our local coaches enough and they have failed to live up to the expectations of many. Recently we had Honor Janza and now we still continue to bank on George Lwandamina and thanks to him and some other factors the coffin cover is slowly closing on us.
In picture, National team coach George Lwandamina in National team jersey. Talk of coordination!
If an expatriate with a traceable winning record is not hired in time, all of us visualizing anything positive on Zambian football should wake up and maybe try dancing to Dununa Reverse maybe, just maybe your spirits will wake up from their slumber.
Having a new army of players is another aspect that should be considered. Our current players have no zeal for trophies, some among them won the AFCON as players on the pitch while some as bench warmers but the truth is that they have done their part and require rest or better, retirement. It is not even rocket science we know most of them are in their late 30s and early 40s if we are to go by their real ages.
There is need for the New guys at the helm of Zambian football to step their authority by giving the Zambians what they want which is good results. The FAZ supper league is one of the most competitive leagues on African soil but how come nonentities like Swaziland are getting results against the 2012 champions?
Have we gone to bed for far too long?
I will state it again that Zambia is à footballing nation and missing at a major tournament is an insult of the highest order to me and many others and my good friend Mukwima Chilala who has decided to go on a sabbatical leave from football after that Mkandawire missjudge that led to Zambia being booted out of contention for the 2017 tourney.
I think for today this is enough........
Zambia just needs the swager back, an expatriate coach, players with real vehemence, a good leadership in charge of Zambian football, selecting of players on merit (too much of incompetent Patson Daka) and before i forget, AK47 and Great Kalu need to reconcile, they MUST iron their differences. That is in someway affecting Zambian football.
Andrew Kamanga and his predecessor Kalusha Bwalya
See you soon................

Creativity among Zambia's musicians as Zambia heads to the Polls in August.
There has been what i would term as creativity and lack of it among Zambia's top leading music acts as the country heads to the polls where we will elect our president, Members of Parliament, Councillors and first in our country Mayors for various Cities around our beautiful country.
Just like the 2011 campaigns and the previous that i can hardly remember as i was a kid with little knowledge on anything, this year's campaigns have seen big names on the Zambian Music Scene produce some classic songs for the top two political parties on the Zambian soil. A very good example is the Patriotic Front with songs like Sontapo which is basically talking about the party pointing at the "many developmental projects undertaken in its five years in power, and the song of the moment, DUNUNA REVERSE which according to the party means kicking the main opposition, the United Party for National Development UPND back into reverse gear.
Just taking you back a little bit, 2011 was the year Zambians removed the Movement for Multi party Democracy MMD from power after having been there for 20 years. And during that time (2011) Zambians were treated to a song that even today is still being regarded as one of the best campaign songs since the turn of the millennium. Dandy Crazy's Donchi Kubeba which we sometimes refer to as a revolutionary song. it helped the PF a great deal during their campaigns.

In picture Dandy Crazy performing in front of former president Rupiah Banda ( signalling a donchi kubeba sign) and late President Sata's wife after Zambia won the 2012 AFCON.
Hope am no wrong to say the PF have done very well in composing campaigns songs. They have been very creative in that regard. The Dununa Reverse song done by JK, Shenky, Wile, Kayombo and the party's chairperson for PF musicians Felix is one song that even opposition political parties have failed to resisted. The bustele song is everyone's favorite, me inclusive.
On the other hand, the musicians composing songs for the country's main opposition political party, the UPND have not done well, they have been average. The few songs they have done have not had massive impact on the electorates. 'PAKA LITENTE' one of their songs cannot be compared to Dununa Reverse, i rarely hear it maybe because the UPND are free to play their songs anyhow in fear of being attacked by the PF youths who we most refer to as Cadres.
We are yet to listen to some more bustele tunes as we head to the August General Elections and one thing is for sure, the guys singing for the ruling PF will continue to grace us with many more songs whether they have some meaning we can relate to or not.
I should mention that am a neutral here and just like anyone else in my profession, my vote is secret but will continue to dance to any good tune that comes along.
All i can urge the electorates is to vote for a candidate whom you feel has your aspirations at heart and not for the songs that their parties have done. For as long as we live good and bad music will continue coming to our ears.
What important role do these campaign songs play??????????
Thats it for today.......

Energy shortages and climate variability a major threat to sustainable development says Lungu.
Zambia's 6th President Edgar Lungu says Energy shortages and climate
variability have become a major threat to sustainable development on
the African Continent.
He says growth on the continent has reduced with the International Monetory Fund IMF World Economic outlook having an estimated growth of 3 per cent, a level that below the 5 to 7 per cent range experienced over the past decades.
He says energy shortages and climate change related issues have played a bigger role in dampening growth prospects hence putting the poorest of the continent in a precarious position in matters to do with food security.
And president Lungu notes that Zambia has not been spared from the impact of energy shortages and climate variability saying the country’s economic prospects have been negatively impacted as a result of receiving below normal rainfall in 2015 that continued to 2016 and caused electricity generation to reduce by 3.3% in 2015 with this year’s projection at 38.9 %
The president charges that as a result of climate variability, Agriculture production fell by 8.1% in 2015 adding that the region’s agricultural output has been severely hampered while hydroelectric power generation has been adversely affected with severe power rationing that has in turn reduced industrial activity across sectors.
The president was speaking during the official opening of the African Development Bank AfDB Annual General Meeting being held at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka, Zambia.
The meeting has seen delegates from all across the continent with notable names like Former United Nations Secretary General Koffi Annan, Former Nigerian President Olusagun Obasanjo among others.

Printing of ballot papers in Zambia
IS IT NOT AMAZING
Is it not amazing that the so
called hard working PF government has failed to modernize Government Printers
to a level where it is able to print ballot papers?
This is despite the assurance
not only by Works and Supply Minister but by the late Republican President
Michael Sata (MHSRIP), who had promised the nation just after the first
parliamentary by election that the country would for the next by-election print
ballot papers at Government printers.
Today, almost five years since
PF took over the reign of power, Government printers cannot print ballot papers
and yet the PF are busy bragging that they have delivered.
Well, to some of us, we are
not surprised that the country is still out sourcing the printing of ballot
papers from outside because we are convinced beyond reasonable doubt that this
government lacks the capacity to plan.
Have you ever wondered how
much the country could have saved if all the ballot papers and election
materials from the unprecedented by elections that the country has had under
the PF reign and the forth coming Presidential and General elections?
Besides that, the number of
jobs that would have been created for Zambian especially during election time.
Honesty, is this the type of
government you would want to continue that does not know how to prioritize
issues in order to save the meager resources?
The answer is a definitely big
NO if we want to see out country develop.
We have no choice but to
vigorously campaign so that we usher into office a visionary leadership that
will not only help preserve the meager resources through prudent utilization
but will also help grow the economy and create meaningful job opportunities.

KAMBWILI URGES MEDIA TO BE FACTUAL AND TELLS DR. SCOTT LEAVE POLITICS FOR OTHERS.
Information
and broadcasting Minister Chishimba Kambwili says government through the
Independent Broadcasting Authority will not allow certain media houses to
continue being used by political parties.
Speaking
at a media briefing this morning, the minister said media houses should refrain
from practicing partisan politics as this will compromise their operations.
He
says the media has the mandate to disseminate information that is factual and
truthful unlike what is pertaining at the moment.
And
the minister charges that government has the responsibility to protect the
Zambians from wrong information charging that government will not hesitate to
enforce the law.
He
says the government has liberalized the media to allow many media houses to
come on board so that Zambians are given news that is factual and he adds that
if the situation is not controlled, this will lead to people making uninformed
decisions.
And
the Minister has advised former republican vice president Dr. Guy Scott to leave
politics
He
says it is surprising that Dr. Scott who is one of the founding members of the
Patriotic Front has now lost his integrity and has started working with the curtail.
He
charges that Dr. Scott has no integrity and mind of his own but is being used
by people that have nothing good to offer to the Zambians.
He
says Dr. Scott and Democratic Front Leader Miles Sampa should not mislead the Zambians
by saying they have left the PF because of poor leadership because they have
always been against the leadership of president Lungu.
